Miss Modern Color | June Palette

It’s kind of no secret that I attended Alt Design Summit this past week. After drooling over instagram photos of the event for the past few years, I actually, finally, went. I won a ticket (an instagram contest in fact) so I had nooo excuse not to go. It’s hard to leave work / kids / fam for 5 days… but ya know what? It was SO worth it. More than worth it. SO MUCH FUN. These people speak my language, which is my favorite thing about the event, but then there were the parties, the awesome people, the connections, the outfits: OH the outfits. What you hear is true, and thankfully I pulled it off like I knew what I was doing.

In fact, going to my start a little side business after something that I wore to Alt (something I made…. for the garden party, hint hint) was such a huge hit. (So look for that soon). There were so many amazing bloggers at Alt, and so many of them did incredible recaps of the event, took awesome photos, and just generally know more about blogging than I do, so I will leave that to them, but I will say  this: 2 of the biggest highlights were the keynote speakers: Joy Cho of Oh Joy! and Martha Stewart of um, well, you know. These ladies know what’s up. (oh, and check out Martha’s link – she did a whole blog post on speaking at Alt). I admit that I was more excited to hear Martha speak (I kind of ran to get a seat up front) than I thought I’d be, and Joy Is an adorable inspiration / powerhouse. Just look at her summer line for Target. Please. So cute.
