As the queen of quick, cheap and easy re-decortating, I find that the small touches are what can make or break a room. I won’t go into a ton of detail, but I recently found myself with a huge white living room which held one sofa, one loveseat, and one coffee table. And a bookshelf. We moved to a new house right before Christmas, and with the tree, decorations, etc., everything looked beautiful. But once they were packed up and taken down, uh, not so much. I had no idea what to do with it, which felt weird, because I usually have some sense about it. Anyway, about a month ago, on a Friday night around 5:00, I went for it. I headed to Ross, Marshalls, and Target. Three hours and 500.00 later, the problem was solved. (and also, it was a blast). Some cool & easy touches can go a long way to making a room feel happy, lived in, yet still “designed.” Below are a few ideas to help jump start a room “brightening”. If you have some great decorating tricks, we’d love to hear them!
